Macha Chili Oil Brownies

Macha Chili Oil Brownies

Hopefully we don’t come to regret publishing this recipe… This will produce amazing, almost fudge-like brownies. The basic recipe easily adapts itself to different ingredients—dried cherries and hazelnuts come to mind. But these are outstanding… with just enough heat to make them interesting. The nutty, chili flavor of the Macha Chili Oil complements the chocolate and its oiliness helps spread all of the flavors, achieving a perfect state of unctuous delectability, but in a good way.

Macha Chili Oil Brownies

Preheat oven to 350°.

In double boiler, melt and combine:

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

8 ounces, Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips*

Remove from heat and whisk in:

1¼ cups sugar

Transfer to a bowl and whisk in the following until smooth:

1 tsp vanilla

¼ cup cocoa powder

½ tsp salt

1 tbsp uBu Macha Chili Oil (including plenty of chilis)

3 eggs one at a time

Fold in:

½ cup all purpose flour

Line 8” x 8” pan with parchment paper and pour in batter. Bake for 35-40 minutes, testing with toothpick.

Serve drenched with uBu Macha Chili Oil and vanilla ice cream on the side.
