(Pop-up Market this Saturday at their New Digs)
One of our favorite partnering retailers, Produce With Purpose, is moving just down the road into a larger, more accommodating space. PWP, owned by Rick and Dawn Slager, grows and sells food, using a portion of the proceeds to help support local agriculture in Africa. In addition to their retail store, you’ll find them at the Appleton farmers markets, as well as operating a very popular CSA and food delivery service. If you’re in the Fox Valley, their store is well worth a visit. In addition to produce (both local and non), they sell locally produced food, meats, cheeses, and more. It’s well worthwhile following their Facebook page—assuming you like food—for updates. Rick has a penchant for running interesting & tasty specials, his California citrus sale being a good, recent example. Rick carries our Macha Chili Oils as well as our fresh, frozen hummus.
This is also to let you know that we will be participating in his pop-up markets on March 4, 18, and 25, from 9 to 12:30 at 5086 Amy Avenue in Kaukana. We did the pop-up a couple of weeks ago and it was a great deal of fun. We decided to extend our “Win our Hiker’s Hummus Gift Set (featuring a kuksa mug)” promotion for a few more days to accommodate any newsletter sign ups from the Rick’s Pop-Up, so allow that to be an inducement. These are the kinds of things that make it rewarding to have one foot in local food and the other in national distribution!
By the by, if you happen to be in Madison, Wisconsin for Canoecopia on the 10th and 11th, stop by and say hello.
